AUTHOR: Solomon himself was the author of most proverbs. As stated in [1 Kings 4:32], Solomon “composed three thousand proverbs, and his songs were one thousand and five”. Other authors mentioned by name in proverbs are Agur [Pr 30:1-33 ] and Lemuel [Pr 31:1-9 ], authors the Bible does not mention elsewhere.
THEME: Proverbs presents a set of principles and values written by men who, in their wisdom, followed God and, through their life experiences, transmit in a practical way how we should act in everyday life wisely, reverently and committed to God's values. The said book is full of concise expressions that contain moral lessons. The function of the Book is made clear at the beginning [ Pr 1:2-4

4- They will help to give prudence to the inexperienced and knowledge and common sense to the young. ]. The book can be defined in two premises: Teaching and focusing on the great benefits that accrue to human beings due to a disciplined mind and God-oriented way of life, and conversely, warning of the great dangers that inevitably result from following the dictates of nature or lower passions.
COMPILATION: Approximately 729 / 699 BC. It consists of 31 chapters and 915 verses.
